The Porches Inn At Mass Moca - North Adams

Historic Victorian inn with on-site art exhibitions and heated outdoor pool

Art & Culture

The Porches Inn at Mass MoCA sits across from the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, the largest museum of its kind in the United States. On-site art collections are displayed throughout the property, and Studio 9, a recording studio and theater, hosts open mic nights and performances. Guests are within a 10-minute walk of local art galleries and a short drive from the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute.

Rooms & Decor

Rooms at the Porches Inn are styled with retro furnishings and bright colors, featuring vintage collectibles that complement the historic Victorian architecture. Each guest room includes a plush bathrobe, a minibar, and a flat-screen TV, with some offering private porches with rocking chairs. The inn occupies a series of restored millworker homes, preserving the original character while providing modern comforts.

Dining & Social

A daily continental breakfast includes scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, bagels with smoked salmon, local yogurt, and Vermont cheese, served in the breakfast room or on the outdoor terrace. The Lobby Bar offers full bar service in a relaxed setting, and room service is available with boxed lunch options. Several restaurants, including Desperado's Mexican Restaurant and Big Shirl's Kitchen, are within 3 km of the inn.

Wellness & Recreation

The Porches Inn provides an outdoor heated swimming pool with a heated pool deck, open all year, and a companion hot tub at 38 °C. A sauna and a 24-hour fitness center with cardio machines, free weights, and a universal weight station are available for guest use. The pool house also contains a TV/game room, and the property features a garden with outdoor fireplace and furniture.

Business & Events

The Porches Inn offers private meeting rooms with natural light and wireless Internet, suitable for small groups and creative gatherings. An amenity fee covers access to business services, including fax/photocopying, and the front desk provides concierge service and express check-in/check-out.
